Emily, Shaun, and Jacklin dream of a more equitable society where everyone has a shot at reaching their full potential, and we are thrilled to welcome them to NxtWork’s inaugural internship program.

Originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, I moved to Montreal, Quebec to pursue my Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Psychology at McGill University, which I completed in the spring of 2022. I am passionate about art and sustainability. During my undergraduate degree, I worked with several organizations to promote minority and non-binary artists in my communities as well as to encourage greater discussion around and understanding of the role of women and minorities in our economics education.

Having more women in positions of influence will make the world a better and more equal place. At NxtWork I can provide women+ professionals with the resources necessary to reach their full potential.

I am an economics student at the University of California Santa Barbara and part of the university’s honors program. My ambition is to be a lawyer one day. After taking an ethnic studies course in his first year of college, I concluded that much more work on DEI is necessary. So, as a research assistant, I worked on the importance of DEI programs and their prevalence and serve as an undergraduate student lead for UCSB’s Economic Department’s DEI Committee.

NxtWork is committed to creating a more equitable and inclusive labor force. As someone who has researched the benefits of diversity, I believe it is critical to support initiatives that promote DEI in the workplace.

JACKLIN NGUYEN

I am a 3rd-year student at the University of California Santa Barbara, studying Economics. As an Asian-American woman, I became aware at a young age that I would have to work harder to attain an equal footing with my peers. Nonetheless, I refused to let this reality interfere with my ambitions. This is why I want to help others who may be experiencing similar challenges on their journey toward success.

NxtWork’s mission to foster diversity in the workplace and create an environment where individuals from all backgrounds can flourish resonates deeply with me. I am determined to make meaningful contributions to promote equal opportunities for all.
