Hello and Happy 2024!

This year NxtWork turns 4 and we are still awestruck by the privilege of sharing this incredible journey with you!

It all started with a tight community of women united by a firm commitment to support each other’s professional growth and aspirations. It was only after the murder of George Floyd in 2020 that our work assumed a new meaning. Pushed to confront their biases, companies have pledged a more inclusive workforce and NxtWork was born to help them turn those promises into real change.

We had much to celebrate this past year. We welcomed new members, some of us have joined their first board and we have partnered with the Corporate Board Members Network to push the cause of diversity in companies’ boards. Stay tuned because more is coming in 2024!

But this is far from enough.

Today, our work is even more important. The 2023 US Supreme Court ruling against affirmative action in academia is already spilling into the corporate world. Companies are reeling in diversity and inclusion practices for fear of legal challenges. The progress of the past years is under threat.

We cannot let this happen.

Our Vision is a world where diversity in Boards of Directors and C-suites is the norm, not the exception; where diverse leadership is seen not just as a social responsibility, but as a strategic necessity.

By 2025, every NxtWork members should have the opportunity to join a board: a very realistic goal for NxtWork. But to get there, we need your help!

No support is too small. We are looking for volunteers:

• Do you know anybody in private equity or an industry that is looking for fresh talent for their boards? Pick up the phone and tell them how NxtWork can help.
• Spread the word about our work and action with your friends and contacts. Mention it to new partners or clients. That is an excellent way to support fellow NxtWork members in finding their next opportunity.
• Follow us on social media (LinkedIn, X, Instagram). The more people know about our mission, the more NxtWork can expand its action.
• Consider setting up a recurring donation. No help is too small to make a change.
