Our Story

In February 2020, our founders started hosting monthly gatherings of high-performing women+ leaders from their professional networks.

The goal: to foster a community built on sharing knowledge and opportunities.

By the summer of that year, the group’s work took on new meaning. They saw companies promising to invest in a more diverse, inclusive workforce, but few organizations had made real progress, particularly in positions of senior leadership.

NxtWork was founded to leap past good intentions and create real change.

The NxtWork Difference

Founded by three women of color, NxtWork is a diverse, primarily BIPOC network of women+ uniquely positioned to connect business leaders with an ethnically diverse network of industry executives.

We help our partners add real value to their organizations by achieving their diversity goals and fostering a culture of innovation through meaningful inclusion and representation at the leadership level.

  • NxtWork is the only organization of its kind devoted to creating direct relationships between diverse women leaders, C-suites, and boards. 
  • NxtWork is effective where coaching, mentoring, or leadership development programs often fall short. While important, these initiatives can devalue accrued accomplishment and reinforce established hierarchies.

Christine Lawton

A lawyer and business advisor with 25+ years’ experience in entertainment and consumer technology, from major motion picture studios to new blockchain and NFT dynamos, Christine develops transactional frameworks that transform consumer entertainment experiences and create global markets.

Jenny Kim
