Starting Strong in 2024!

Greetings, NxtWork community!
We are starting strong in 2024! In just a few short weeks, two board positions were referred to us and we were able to recommend six incredible women, four of whom have moved along in the recruitment process. None of this would have happened without the collective effort of our community that quickly mobilized to make sure women in their network knew and could take advantage of this opportunity.

To us, this shows that when we stick together and wear our NxtWork affiliation with pride, each individual contribution multiplies our impact!

Force Multiplier Tip: Add your NxtWork affiliation to your professional profile! A simple sentence, like “[Name] is a proud member of NxtWork, a non-profit dedicated to diversifying companies’ Boardrooms and C-suites” can go a long way and lead to serendipitous but important connections. You can even borrow that sentence and paste it on your professional profiles!

Our collective accomplishments don’t end here: Raise your glass to celebrate fellow member Betty Gower who has officially joined the Advisory Board of Bullseye Engagement. Congratulations Betty for this new incredible feat! If you wish to show your support, feel free to share or comment on our announcement on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram.

Speaking of accomplishments, what can exemplify the collective talent of this group better than, Njeri Mutura’s recent INside Diversity Award, Jill Louis’s inclusion into Dallas 500 (the most influential business leaders in the Dallas-Fort Worth area), or the recognition that Dominique Shelton Leipzig’s new book Trust – Responsible AI, Innovation, Privacy and Data Leadership has received? On minute 20 of her recent interview on Reputation in Crisis with Mike Paul, Dominique also shares about her work with NxtWork and the organization’s meaning in her personal and professional journey. Please, help us spread the word by linking, reposting or commenting on our announcement on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram.

Beyond individual accomplishments, NxtWork is all about collaboration and it shows when our members work together on common projects, like Njeri Mutura and Dominique Shelton Leipzig’s recent event on Cybersecurity and AI sponsored by their respective organizations (Microsoft and Mayer Brown) or the incredible duo Christine Heckart and Betty Gower’s inspirational new installment of their Xapa Get Filthy Enriched Series with Adam Sud. You don’t want to miss the next one with Dr Neha Sangwan: register and share!

We can mutually advance our work by amplifying each other’s voices! Show your support by sharing with your professional network about the 2024 Minorities in Cybersecurity Conference organized by fellow member Mary Chaney and her pathbreaking non-profit. Or NxtWork intern Katherine Jafroodi’s latest article: She explains what steps companies can take to ensure the meaningful engagement of underrepresented workers and to reinforce companies’ DEI commitments amidst novel legal challenges. Make sure you spread the word by sharing it with your professional connections or reposting it (LinkedIn, Twitter, or Instagram posts are available for quick reposting).

These accomplishments exemplify the talent and dedication within our community but also serve as an inspiration to us all and we can’t wait to share more in the months to come. Thank you for being a part of this journey.
