Sara Chenetz assists clients in formulating and implementing practical, and often complex, solutions to business concerns and opportunities for business growth. In and out of court proceedings, she guides clients through restructurings, workouts, and litigation, including helping clients identify investment prospects, recover amounts owed, enhance business relationships, and improve governance and capital structures.

Sara has first-chaired multiple trials, arbitrations, and mediations, in addition to serving as a court-appointed Chapter 11 trustee in the U.S. Bankruptcy Courts for the Central District of California and District of Nevada. She continues to serve as a mediator in bankruptcy cases in California and elsewhere.

Sara regularly counsels financially troubled businesses, their directors, officers and owners, businesses doing business with troubled companies, first and second lien holders, equity holders, buyers of assets, official committees, debtors in possession, trustees, assignees, and others involved in challenging business circumstances. Sara works with businesses and people in a myriad of industries, including entertainment, fintech, senior living, technology, uncrewed vehicles, and wine, to name a few.

A senior fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, Sara repeatedly has been ranked by Chambers USA, which highlighted such clients’ comments as “Sara is an outstanding lawyer and client manager; she is an excellent active listener, facilitator and solutionist — she always provides practical strategies and solutions that move a matter forward.” In 2022, Sara was named both as a Top Bankruptcy Lawyer and a Top 100 Women Lawyer in California by the Daily Journal.
